I noticed that my ancestors (Farrell & Turpie of Mayo) move to Edinburgh between 1851-1859.
In 1851 there is a Farrell family at the same address my Farrells move to by 1859. I have been unsuccessful finding my Farrell & Turpie line before their move to Scotland (I have everything after).
I thought if I researched this other family, they may end up being related/from the same town. However, I am having trouble finding the Irish records for this other family who are:
husband: Laurence Farrell 1799 (parents Laurence Farrell & Catherine Quin from death record in Scotland)
wife: Bridget 1802 ( parents James Connelly & mum MS Donnelly from death record in Scotland)
children: Maryann (1832), Michael (1834), Bridget (1844)
I guess I'm trying to find where the above were all born.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Thank You!

Welcome back and I guess you are stuck with me again. I just searched on Roots Ireland for any Farrell baptismal records in Mayo where the father's first name started with an "L" Afew records came up but not for your family. My guess is that the baptisms occurred in a parish which no longer has records back to your time period.
You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing. Possibly you will match someone who has more information on your Farrell line.

Thanks again, Roger!
I decided to get a roots-Ireland monthly subscription and have been searching for the above without "Mayo" in case that was incorrect. I did find children in Longford being born to a Laurence Farrell and Catherine Quinn. Of course I have no way of really knowing...so I think I will look into the autosomal DNA testing that you mentioned!
All the best!
