Hi Folks, Trying to track my Mulroy tribe from Mayo. John Mulroy (b. approx 1810) married Bridget McCue (McHugh/McKew) and they had Edward (b. 1832), Bridget, Catherine, Thomas, James, Michael (b. 1842). They then emigrated to Preston, Lancashire, England where my great grandmother, Ann Mulroy was born. Many of the children came to New Bedford, Massachusetts, US. (I believe Bridget McCue Mulroy may have died, and John remarried a Margaret Bambrie (or she may have been his first wife--sketchy records)
Any connections out there? Thanks! Peg Sullivan

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched on Roots Ireland for the marriage record and the baptismal records for the children but did not find any records. Mulroy was a fairly common surname in Co. Mayo. Likely the marriage and baptisms occurred in a parish that does not have records back to 1830-1842.

Forgot to mention that you may want to consider autosomal DNA testing. This testing will allow you to look for matches on your paternal and Maternal lines.

Not sure which company you tested with but you may want to check out www.gedmatch.com Gedmatch is a volunteer run site where people can update their raw DNA data and see if they match with someone who tested with one of the other companies and loaded their data to Gedmatch.
