I have previously posted the information below on the Fermanagh message board with no success. I have since learned through DNA testing that I match a Fionan O'healai from Ireland. His Healy line comes from Achil, Co. Mayo. Fionan and I also have common matches whose ancestors are from Mayo. I would appreciate any help in regard to the below posting. Thank You.
Find Ancestral Home of Edwards and Healy Families
Looking for John Edward Edwards, born about 1823 in County Fermanagh and left for America around 1845. Married around 1844 to Mary Healy, born about 1826. They are shown in New York City as early as 1845. Mary may have had an older brother, Thomas Healy. They moved to Essex County, New York where they settled. Their first born was George Edwards, born in 1845 in New York City.

- Hello Mallow, thanks for your quick response. Yes, that is my family. The senior John Edwards is my 2nd GGF and his son John Joseph Edwards is my GGF. I recently checked my DNA family finder results at FTDNA and found a person with the Edwards line and it turned out she is descended through Ann J. Edwards. We have been corresponding fiercely figuring out photos, dates, etc. This is one of her recent communications:
"I also went back and looked at some notes that my Grandmother left about the Edwards family. She wrote that John Edwards and Mary Healy married in Ireland just before immigrating to New York, and that they came from County Fermanagh [I think; her handwriting is a bit hard to decipher at the end of the word, but it looks like the only likely candidate]. She’d also typed in “Belfast,” which is not in County Fermanagh, but close enough, maybe, to suggest that they came from that county or somewhere in the northern part of Ireland."
This is me talking again: Perhaps they married in Belfast or embarked there for Liverpool or America.
Thanks again for your help.

- Hi again,
I have searched all possible Irish records but could not find a 100%match , the names John Edwards and Mary Healy are both to common to pinpoint the correct people. No sign of a marriage between a John Edwards and a Mary Healy. Did find a marriage of a Joseph Edwards and a Mary Healy in England 1845
We need to narrow it down first somehow, if possible get the USA death certs for John and Mary, that way we might get a better idea of the birth year, also have you checked if the couple maybe married in the USA ?
Regards
Annemarie
