Hello,
I posted this in the wrong parish I think (Kilalla). My 2nd great grandparents were James Doherty (spelled a variety of ways) and Nancy Ann Conway. I can find birth records for two of their children John born 1854 Beltra address (Rooney sponsors) and Thomas born 1856 with Castlebar address (Rooney Sponsor). I can not find Mary and Ella who should have been born before the couple immigrated to Dunmore PA about 1863. I also can not find their marriage record. We are coming to Ireland to visit in August next and would love to be able to understand exactly where they were from. Any help would be wonderful. We actually visited this area last fall but I had no idea the Doherty's were from here at that point. thank you!

The original message posted in Killala parish and the response were deleted. I had checked Roots Ireland and the baptismal records for Mary and Ella were not there. I shared the Lacken parish register and pointed out that marriage records in Lacken start in 1854. The marriage likely occurred before 1854.

Have I suggested autosomal DNA testing to you in the past?
