My gr.gr. grandmother, Margaret (Grogan) Tully (c1836 - c1875) was said to be from Knock. She married Patrick Tully in 1854 in Ballyhaunis Parish. They lived thereafter in Cornacartha Townland, near Tulrahan and had 6 known children. I visited the old Knock graveyard in 1999 and I saw that there were Grogans buried there. Could anyone help me find Margaret's family?
Thank you for all help.

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Have you tried looking at Church records in Knock for information on Margaret?s family, such as her parents? names? Most Catholic records are held locally so it may be an idea to write to the parish priest. One website which you may find useful is the Irish Times, where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Knock follow this link:
For Church of Ireland records check:
http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/. The Anglican Record Project is has created an index to their records: http://ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/AngRecord/bunclodyunionindex.pdf
You could also try doing a search at www.familysearch.org . This is a huge database of genealogical records compiled by the Church of the Latter Day Saints.
Some other websites which may be helpful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
