You could try looking into Church records from Kilmore parish for more information.

Also the ?Boston Pilot? newspaper did a ?missing friends? column for people who had relatives that emigrated and were ?lost. These message date from 1831-1921 and can be searched online at:

If you are subscribed to Ancestry, they have the indexes to incoming passengers to most US ports available.
