Hello, My ancestors Michael McCaffrey and Anne Maguire emigrated to Canada (Quebec) around 1820-1830. They were both originating from Armagh, Kilmore parish. They had a daughter, born in Canada in 1843 named Ann McCaffrey. On her birth certificate, it is mentionned that her godfather is William McCaffrey and her godmother is Jane McGuigan.
I found in the "Catalog of catholic immigrants from the british isles before 1825" by Normand Robert a mention about William McCaffrey (parents: Terrence McCaffrey and Elizabeth Gavan) who emmigrated from Ireland and married Jane McGuigan in Montreal in 1823.
I am interested in finding information on Terrence McCaffrey and Exlizabeth Gavan and also about Anne Maguire (McGuire) parents. I would like to know if Michael and Anne got maried in Ireland or if they met in Canada.
Any help is more than welcomed.
Thank you,
Francois Leduc, son of Raymonde Masse, daughter of Helene Dalpe, daughter of Marguerite Arpin, daughter of Ann McCaffrey.
