Looking for information on Michael O'Boyle and Catherine Gill O'Boyle

Perhaps you could post a bit more information with some dates etc, showing what you already know, and what it is you would like to find out?

I'm not su​re what I did, but somehow I omitted the body of the post I has written. :)

We are hoping to find more information about Michael O'Boyle and Catherine Gil, such as their parents, their siblings, dates of birth and death, etc. 

We know that Michael and Catherine were married on 22 Jan 1870 in Rathmore. 

Death certificates from a couple of their children show that Michael was born in Deel Bridge and that Catherine was born in Rathmore.  We don't know the years, but would guess based on the wedding that they would have been around 1850 +/- 5 years.

We also know they had 8 children together: James (b 1872), Francis (b 1874), Robert (b.1876), Aine (b 1878), Michael (b. 1880), Patrick (b.1882), Thomas (b. 1884), and May (b.1889).  We were surrised to find information about May in the Ireland 1901 Census.  We had not known about her.

The RC parish records for Crossmolina start in 1831 and are on-line free on the National Library site. You can search them for the baptisms (you won't get a birth cert as the events are pre 1864):

If you look at the full information on the 1911 census, you’ll see that Michael & Catherine had 10 children altogether, 7 of whom were alive in 1911.

According to the will calendars site, Michael died 12.5.1898. He died intestate and Catherine administered his estate which was  valued at £64. He was 53.

I can’t see Catherine’s death as such but probate on her estate was granted in Ballina on 6.2.1919 to Thomas O’Boyle of Rathmore, (she left a will which should probably still exist).

Wow.  Thanks!  I hadn't h​eard of the two sites that you mentioned.  Are there more like that?

Now, I have to figure out which brother Bridget was married to.  Catherine (in the 1911 census) lists her as a 'daughter-in-law,' but her only son living with her is listed as 'single.'  I was sad to discover (using the willcalendars site) that Bridget died later that year!

I'm also very interested to find out who the other childred are (since it says she bore 10!).

I just couldn't read the registers.nli.ie pages, but I bet there is a lot of great information there.

Noticed your exchange with Elwyn. I went on Roots Ireland and only found eight children for this couple. Maybe there were two children who died at birth and they were quickly baptized (by the family) and buried.
