Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me find info on Francis O'Boyle, (married to Eliza Lowther/Lother) in Jun 1880 in Ballina.
He had quite a few children between 1880 & 1897, then disappears (I cant find him in the 1901 or 1911 census) but turns up in an immigration record for 2 of his daughters, Bridget & Sabina (Penelope) in 1908 living in Chicago, Cook, Illinois at 242 North Clark St.
I can't find him after that, I'd like to know when or where he died or at least his parents names etc. I dont even know when he was born. All I do know that is he was a farmer in the Fairfield area.
I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Thanks
Daryl

Couldn't find a Mayo birth baptism for Francis with father James but there are 2 in 1849 - one from Armagh & 1 Monagha; the latter is RC so maybe the Armagh one is him?

Hi Col,
Many thanks for finding those records regarding Francis.
I think the parish record for Francis in Crossmolina is the closest one, although his father is given as James on his marriage cert. I know that James was a farmer and appeared on the Griffith's valuation, so it's likely it would fit Crossmolina better. Another mystery regarding Francis :0/
Thanks again.
Regards,
Daryl

Hi Daryl
Fairfield is in Moygownagh RC parish adjacent to Crossmolina and while there is a Rathglass there also - Lowther is a Rathglass East name and the reason why Francis married in the church near his bride i.e. Kilmoremoy.
It is the Moygownagh Catholic parish records you need to check to find any info on the O'Boyles of Fairfield. But I warn you they are haphazard before 1900 and non existant prior to 1870.
To confuse things Fairfield is in the civil parish of Kilfian for state records.

By the way, neither of those baptism certs are for Francis.
