Hello,
I'm not sure if I sent this message to the wrong parish previously! I'm looking for the Tully's of Cornacartha. I have found Patrick Tully (sen + jun) on the 1855 Griffiths. There are also John and Bartly Tully living in the same place.
I understand that Patrick Tully (and a brother) came from Roscommon but I don't know where. There are a lot of Patrick Tullys living in Co Roscommon in the Griffiths eval. I'm assuming they would have migrated to Cornacartha around 1820 - 1835. One of these brothers is said to have married a Nary girl (Neary?). (There was a place called Ballynary in Cornacartha townland but I haven't found it.)
My gr grandfather (probably Patrick Tully junior on the Cornacartha Griffiths) was born c 1834 and was married (according to a previous search) in 1854 in Ballyhaunis Parish (to Margaret Grogan). I still have relatives living on the same land in Cornacartha so I know I have the right family!
So, I'm hoping to go back further than 1855 and find out where (and when) the Tullys came from in Co Roscommon and of course, more about their families! Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
