Hi, my name is Jim Hopman. my great-grandmother was Anne Agnes Coleman, daughter of Michael Coleman and Mary Ruane. MAry Ruane was the daughter of Thadeus Ruane and Mary Marrey. I don't have any information on Michael Coleman other than his father's name might have been Patrick. Anne married Michael Myles Morley 21-Feb-1881 in Claremorris. I've been able to find the names of her siblings but nothing on Michael Myles Morley other than his father's name is Myles Morley. He had a half-brother named James Doyle or Dayle who also emigarated to USA, he was listed in the 1895 Minnesota census living with the Morley. St. Colman's Church didn't have any parish records of the Morley, I'm posting this on Knock as I found references to Morley families around that area.
Just curious is anyone has a connection or information.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I located the church marriage record for Michael and Mary from 1854. Civil registration of RC marriages did not begin until 1864. Here is a link to the parish register for Kilcolman/Claremorris parish. Baptismal records start in 1835 so it is possible that Michael was born before 1835 and a record would not be available. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1056
I was unable to find a good baptismal record for Michael Morley.

Hi Roger,
I realized I never thanked you for replying to my post. Thank you for the information about my 2nd great grandparents! Still hoping to find information on the Morley family, saw a reference to them in Griffiths in Knock but can't tie this to my family yet. Hope you have a blessed and Happy Christmas!

Hi Roger,
I saw a reference on on John Grenham's site referencing Griffith's Valuation of 3 Coleman families and 1 Morley family in the Kilcolman Clanmorris parish in 1856-57. I realize this is not related to the church records. I find Griffith's sometimes hard to research. Just curious if you've seen this. I'll try to add a screenshot.
Thanks, Jim Hopman

Yes, the Griffiths is useful to a point. You also have to watch for spellings. There are also Colman records in that parish. Another issue is that there was another Kilcolman parish in Mayo in 1855 which was moved to Co. Roscommon in 1898. Sometimes the records get merged but if you have the Clanmorris barony records you are in the right place. The other parish is in Costello barony.

This is Jim Hopman again. Thought I'd post the names of Micahel Coleman's and Mary Ruane's children. their daughter, Anne is my great-grandmother. Wonder if there are any Coleman families in Claremorris and if they'd recognize any of these names.
