I have recently found information stating that my 4th great grandfather was Dr. Butler in Castlebar, Mayo in the early 1800's.

I cannot find him or his family on any site.  My 3rd great grandmother is Clarinda Butler, him daughter. Any information to get over this brick wall would be appreciated.

  • Are you on Ancestry and have done DNA? I'm not sure if my Butlers were from Castlebar or not. I have some Castlebar relatives, so it's worth checking. Mine emigrated to Canada in the 1810-1830 timeframe.
