Bridget Moore arrived in New Yor in June 1846 in the company of Michael Gavin and Mary Moore. Looking for ancestors of any of these people. Thanks!

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Do you have any other information that you could share? Do you know the names of their parents, or any siblings that may have remained in Ireland? Do you know their religious denomination? The more information you post, the more likely it is that someone will recognise the families.
Have you tried looking at Church records for information? Most Catholic records are held locally. One website which may be helpful is the irishtimes website where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Burrishoole parish follow this link:
For Church of Ireland records check http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/
You could also check the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. Although these do not offer any genealogical information they can be used to tie a person to a specific area for the time. There are two records:
The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Grittith's Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
Have you looked into their emigration records? Sometimes this can be a good place to find more information. If you havn't done so already, you could check the US National Archives immigration informationa the following address:
http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/
You could also check the Castlegarden database: http://www.castlegarden.org/
Some other websites which you may find helpful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
The National Archives UK ? genealogy search: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/
The Public Records Office of Northern Ireland http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/family_history.htm
Family Search: https://familysearch.org/
Genealogy Links: http://www.genealogylinks.net/uk/ireland/mayo/index.html
Alternatively you could contact the Family History Research Centre for assistance, however a fee may apply. Here are their contact details:

Ballina,
Co. Mayo.

I hope that this helps. Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Kind regards,
