I am searching for relatives of my great grandfather Denis Staunton b.1851 d.1918, married Mary Deacy (alternative spellings, Daisey, Dacey) b. 1854 d.1920. Their children include my grandmother Mary b. 1889-1967; Ellen (Nellie) b.1879-1970 (immigrated to US); John b.1882; Thomas b. 1884; Margaret b. 1889; Elizabeth b. 1894.

Denis & Mary resided in 1901 and 1911 on a farm in Dromore, Clogher, Mayo. Several of the children are listed on the census returns. I have no further information about the Staunton’s and would like to see if I can make some contact. If anyone has suggestions for me, I would appreciate the help.

    If you google the irish phone book you'll get eircom.

    Search Residential for Staunton in Ballintubber Mayo and you'll find 83 of them.

    If you don't get any responses here you might tyr dropping them a line - 83 postage stamps to send them a letter with details of Dennis & Mary & your contact details.

    In response to your post... Dennis and Mary Staunton are my great grandparents also. I am the grandaughter of Elizabeth Staunton Clark. I just started researching the family history and found your board.
