Dear rkadams
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I had a look on rootsireland and there is a marriage record for an Arthur Knox in Co. Mayo in 1807. As there is only one record it might be a good idea to have a look. As this is a subscription site, I am limited in what I can see. Arthur's wife is listed as Elizabeth Westgate.
I couldn't locate any children born to a Knox-Westgate couple, but there are some baptisms for children born to Arthur Know and a wife first name Elizabeth. You may be able to find this information for free onfamilysearch.org
Arthur Knox is also mentioned in the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1832):

There are also some Knox entries on the 1901 Census (one of the latest online sources available):

I hope this is helpful to you
Best wishes

My ancestor from Ireland was Arthur Knox who was born in Ballinrobe in 1827. In 1847 he sailed to Canada and settled in Ontario, Canada. He married Annie Howie (Hoey?) who died in the 1880s. They had a son, George. I have found his marriage certificate in Lake Huron County, Canada. His daughter (or George’s daughter.... not sure because of inconsistent dates), was Louise, my great-grandmother. They lived in Wingham, Ontario. Arthur Knox died in 1928 in Clinton, Ontario at the age of 101. On his 100th birthday in 1927, the town of Wingham presented him with a silver handled cane. My mother, Grace (11 years old at the time), presented him with the cane. I have a picture of the article somewhere in my papers. The grave site for Arthur and Annie Howie Knox is in the old cemetery in Clinton, Ontario. I plan to visit Ballinrobe in October 2018 to look for more information on great grandpa’s history.

I can not speak to accuracy though the info that relates to my family seems to have some name mixups
info there does not seem to have been generally distributed the the various genealogical databases
Good Luck
