searching for any info about the Kenny family and Bermingham family in Ballinrobe. William Kenny born about 1824 married Ann Jane Bermingham. Ann's father was Richard. They had a daughter Margaret( Mary?) and Ellen. Came to Canada prior to 1861.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I think I located the marriage record on Roots Ireland, however, the wife was listed as Kate Bermingham. Let me know if you think this is the correct record. Also, below is a link to the 1856 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Ballinrobe civil parish. There is a William Kenny listed in Ballinrobe. Also a Mary Bermingham on Glebe Street. She could be the widow of Richard. Also below is a link to the Ballinrobe RC parish register. You will note from the summary page that there is a gap in the baptismal records for this parish from 1856-1861. Likely the two daughters were baptized in this gap period which explains why I did not locate their baptismal records on Roots Ireland.

Roger,
So sorry for not responding to your generous help. I only now realized that I needed to edit my settings so that I would receive notification of a response to my querie. That said...thank you very much.
The Mary on Glebe street could be Richard's wife, as I have found a Richard in Slaters Directory as a tobacconist and feather dealer on Glebe street. Now I need to find their marriage.
The search continues

Cathy:
Welcome back!
You probably will not find the marriage record for Richard and Mary since Ballinrobe marriage data starts in 1850.

Am connected to the Kenny family from Westport Ireland....John Kenny who married Catherine O'Malley and lived in the town buried in Augvale cemetery...family of 13 children came to Ontario Canada circa 1825. Would love to find a Kenny or O'Malley connection in Ireland. vrhlowe@gmail.com
