Hi there
Most of my ancestors were from Mayo, but Bridget Conry or Conroy, was born about 1866 in Galway. Her marrige to Patrick Kerrigan in 1888 lists her residence as Glansaul, her father as Andrew and her mother as Bridget. I can't verify her mother's surname, but it might be Marey or Maree. After the wedding in Partry Chapel she went to live in Derrendaffderg, where my grandmother and her siblings were born and raised.
I have hit a brick wall trying to trace the Conry family and would very much appreciate any advice or help on where to look next?
Thanks in advance
Elaine

Elaine:
I found this article on Glensaul National Schoo
Glansaul is likely Glensaul which is a local place name. Note the reference to Greenaun.

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and the best record I could locate was an 1873 birth record (see fourth record at the link). This means that Bridget was just shy of 15 when she married?

This Bridget had the following siblings: Thomas 1865 Mary 1867 Michael 1870 Julia 1871 James 1874 Catherine 1875 Margaret 1877
Is this the correct family?

The 1873 Bridget Conroy's mother was Bridget Mara.
The 1888 marriage record says that Bridget Conroy was over 21.
It looks like these records may be for two different Bridgets.

I know there is a discrepancy between the age on the marriage record and an 1873 birth that is why I raised the question with Elaine. Also, Mara and Maree/Marey are close.

Thanks Roger and Patricia for your helpful replies. I had found the various entries you've mentioned, but as they are really inconclusive I wondered if I might be missing any other verification means. It appears not, so I might have reached a dead end. The school information was fascinating, thanks!
I really appreciate you both taking the time to try to help with this query. Thank you.
