I am trying to complete my family tree. My great grandmother Nancy Fennerty left the Mayo-Sligo border on a cattle boat, she was aged 16 (approximately 1845) and she travelled to Liverpool. She was a fish monger from a fishing family and she was married to Pat Ryan in Liverpool. I would like to find the parish of her birth.

Hi
I've been trying to search for Nancy's records but not having any luck online.
By the way Nancy was also known as Ann, I tried this too but still not finding anything
This is a good site for research in North Mayo, you could check out the Gravestones to see if there if any common family names there.

Some of Ballina was in Sligo before 1900's you could search Sligo records as well, this is an excellant site for Sligo

If you look at these Griffiths Valuations in 1850's - Kilmoremoy is part Ballina/part Sligo......now would be regarded as in the Mayo Area.

Michael Finnerty is living in Ardnaree which is town centre of Ballina now. ( the name Finnerty is more common in Mayo)

If you find any of these links helpful, feel free to ask other questions about the area.
Good luck with your research
