Hi I was wanting any family info onMy GGgrandfather Thomas Leathem born 1832? Father Robert.

He left for New Zealand on the Chariot of Fame in 1862 and arrived in 1863.

Married a Mary Fairlove on April 1st 1866 , they had 12 Children. He died in Feb 1907 aged 74.

Also he was 25 and listed as a ploughman from Cavan.

    I checked the Roots Ireland indexes. They have Annagh RC and C of I records back to 1800 but I did not locate a record for Thomas. The Presbyterian baptismal records for Annagh are not on Roots.

    I checked the 1856 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Annagh parish. There were 5 Leathems listed including 3 Roberts. If your ancestor was still alive in 1856 and leasing land, one of the records may be him. It is alos possible that the same person was leasing land in all three townlands.
