My gggf James Flanagan was born in 1798 in Carlingford parish. He married Catherine Mills in Cooley in 1820 and they emigrated to St John, New Brunswick, Canada where they both remained to their deaths. I have good information once they arrived in Canada but I would like to find out who James' parents were, and what if any of the Flanagan family remained in Louth. Would appreciate any assistance for where to look next.

firstly see post re Flanagan of 23rd March this year Re Flanagan and others Carlingford and sites recommended there. You do not appear to be the only one interested in Carlingford Flanagans.
Check sites on previous answer and I will post tomorrow list of relevant ones or some of same.
