Tracing John Flood and Isabella Murphy. They were married in Templemichael in June 1816. They later emigrated to Canada, possibly in 1819. They had a son, also named John, who was born in Ireland about 1818, but I have not found a baptism record for him. Any leads would be appreciated and I would be happy to contact relatives in Ireland, Canada or the US.

Roots Ireland does not have a baptismal record for the son even though Templemichael RC records are available for the period around 1818. Possibly they were married in the wife's parish but settled in a different area.where baptismal records are not available. For example, the parish to the south of Templemichael is Ardagh and Moydow and there is a gap in their baptismal records from 1816-1822. Here is a link to the parish register for Templemichael http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0146 You may want to review the baptismal records around 1818 in case Roots Ireland missed the record.

I neglected to mention that I had reviewed the parish records for Templemichael up to 1820, but did not find any additional information. I will follow your suggestion and check surrounding parishes. Maybe something will turn up.
