My 2xGreat Grandfather was Patrick Brennan of Clawinch Island, Civil Parish Cashel, Co. Longford. Family stories speak of 2 Delamer/Delanour sisters married to 2 Brennan brothers. I would be grateful for any information about the Brennan or the Delanour families of Clawinch Island.
My direct line is Patrick Brennan (in Griffiths 1850) father or possibly grandfather of Thomas
Thomas (died 1944) father of Michael (died 1943)
Michael father of Michael Vincent (died 2007)
Many thanks
Martine

Martine,
I stumbled across your message from 16 Dec 2013, and have information regarding the Delmores (that's the name in Wisconsin). I'd be happy to share what I know. For now, google "clawinch island ireland delmore"; the Irish Genealogical Society newsletter, vol. 20 no. 4 has an article that will interest you. I tried copying the link, but it took me to a 'not found' page. The article was written by a distant cousin of mine, Sister Elizabeth Delmore.

Many thanks Tari. I am the grt grt grandaughter of Patrick Brennan and Bridget Dilmore who married in 1850 in Newtowncashel. My understanding is that a number of the Brennans emigrated to the States and I am very interested to know if the families remained in contact there. This is the link to my website http://www.martinebrennan.com/brennan.html
and my email address is mbrennankerry@gmail.com if you would like to make contact with me.
With warm wishes

Hi Tari, I haven't heard from you but I really would like to..please leave a message here or email privately if you would prefer. A relative found me a copy of Elizabeth's history of our Delamer family and I have a number of questions for you or who ever is carrying on the research in our family.
Warm wishes

Hi Martine ~
It's great to hear from you! My cat on the keyboard thinks so, too! <--- It took me 2 minutes just to type that.
I'm happy to hear you have Elizabeth's work. I recently asked my mom about "the nun who was researching the family" and she said she'd try to locate the research, too. She said she did, at one time, have a copy of it.
I haven't done any genealogy for several months. But just yesterday, I did get my notes out and sign up on ancestry again. Then I got your email .... (Insert spooky music here) Quite a coincidence, huh? If you're on ancestry, let me know and I'll give you access to my tree. If you're not, we'll figure out another way to get it to you.
Send me your questions and I'll answer the best I can. I hope to be able to fill in some blanks in our tree as well.
"Talk" to you soon :)
