  • Hi Peggy

I Saw your message and noticed the name Tucker, I had come across that name in our parish(Murroe/Boher) records while doing other research. So I had another  look at our records  would you believe that I found a marriage record and Baptismal records for 5/6 children -to John and Hanora - who I believe are your relations!

John Tucker and Hanora Hourigan married 08 June 1833 Sponsors - Tom Lyons and Mary Shiels

    1. Thomas 09 June 1834 Sp John Ransford and Bridget Kirby
    2. Mary         27 July 1838   Sp Nick Hourigan and Mary Rainsford
    3. Richard   08 Jan 1840  Sp Dan Rainsford and Margaret Rainsford
    4. Mary         07 MAr 1842  Sp Patrick Ryan and Mary Rainsford
    5. Richard   15 Sept  1844 Sp Richard Hourigan and Bridget Kennedy

there also is one other a John Tucker  16 Apr 1836  to a John Tucker and Mary Hourigan sponsors- Michael Rainsford and Mary Hourigan- I believe that this is also a child of the above family  and there was a mistake in writing down the mothers name .I have come across many of these kinds of mistake  in these records-though it cannot be 100% Certain

I also had a look  for the Dwyer  family but I didnt find anything.

If you Have any further Question  you can find us on http://www.irelandxo.com/group/murroe-boher-limerick or you can email us  murroe@irelandxo.com

  • Aine,

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. These words just do not seem enough. I have been looking for almost 8 years for any information about this family. I am just over the moon, THRILLED to finally have something.  Having only found this website yesterday I feel quite grateful to have been so lucky to find this information so quickly. Perservernce does pay off. Do you know If  John 16 Apr 1836,  Mary 07Mar 1842  or  Richard 15 Sept 1844 ever married? I would be interested to follow their families down through the years in the Limerick area.

    Peggy :)

  • HI Peggy

No Problem glad to help !

I have had a look through our records  and here is what I found

I found three John Tuckers getting married around the right  time

John Tucker and Judith Collins Mar 29 Apr 1860 sp Jeremiah Mullins and Catherine Simms

John Tucker and Ellen Troy  07 Jan 1863 sp Richard Bourke andMary Walsh

John Tucker and Bgt Fitzgerald 29 Apr 1867 sp Patrick Rainsford and Eliza Hickey

Out of these three only John and Bgt Fitzgerald had Children in Murroe others may not hae had any children or may have emigrated. Children listed below - from townsland of Farnane parish of Murroe

    1. Mgt b 23 Aug 1868 sp Phil  Fleming and Mgt Fitzgerald

    2. John b 04 Aug 1870 sp Edmund Tucker and Kate Power

    3. Ellen b 27 Apr 1875 sp -------------------/----------------------

    4. Michael 05 Mar 1877 sp Michael Tucker and Bgt Ryan

    5. Bgt  b 08 Oct 1881 sp -------------------/Johanna Hayes

I found no Marriage for Richard  Tucker  it is possible that he emigrated ,died or else married in a different parish ,it was the practice at the time to marry in the brides parish, it was usually a neighbouring parish.so you could try there.

Similarly i found no marriage for Mary Tucker  I did find four Mary Tuckers getting married but all too early 1820, 1821, 1824and 1855

  • Hi Peggy,

I see this is an old message and you have probably found this information by now. Bridget Dwyer was born in Co Limerick in 1833 and a brother Michael born 1836.
