In the Tithe Applotment Records, a James Matthews of Gurteen Townland, Corcomohide Parish paid a tithe in 1833. He was a protestant. What would be the name of the parish church where his family might have attended?

My great grandfather was William Matthews, born in 1850s, either in Ireland or NYC. He died in 1931. He had a twin sister, Alice, and brother or Uncle James, a ship's cook in the US Civil War. Any connections?

Hello Eileen - My John Matthews came to New Brunswick, Canada with an older brother, William, from Ireland. This William would have been born abt. 1833 (+/- 2 years) & in the 1881 census of Moncton, New Brunswick, he had a wife, Jane, & 3 children: Joseph - age 5, Mary - age 3, & William - 1 month old. I do not have info on where in Ireland William & John were born. I am exploring different counties of Ireland. Do you have any more info on this William?
