I am trying to find any information about my Ancestors and at what Parish they actually lived in. I have very little information about them. I can't find any immigration record for them, both on the Europe and US side. And it's been almost like a needle in a haystack trying to find them on the US side, mostly due to the fact that they have very common 1st names, and also without the added information. So I am hoping that something might pop up if I begin at their birth place. So this is all of the information that I have -

Father - John Cullen, Born between 1813 and 1815 in Limerick. Death Date - No Record

Mother - Mary or Mary Jane, Born between 1817 and 1820 in Limerick. Death Date - No Record

Son - John Cullen, Born 1839 in Limerick. Death - 1869 in Nevada, USA

Possible 2nd Son - W. H. Cullen, Born approximitaly 1850 in Limerick? Death Date - No Record

Again, I am really hoping to find out more about my Ancestors on the Limerick side of their lives. Thanks again for everyone's help!!

  • Hi Jonathan

There is a baptism record of John Cullin 1817 Limerick on www.rootsireland.ie/ The parish was simply St Marys R C

There were illiteracy and transcription errors which contributed to names being wrongly spelt so don't let the i discourage you.

There was no record of the marriage to Mary in amy county however

There are a couple of baptism records of John Cullens with parents John & Mary in Limerick:

    1840, 1841 & 1843

There is also a Bridget 1841 & Eliza 1860 with these parents

It's difficult to know which are theirs and which aren't - purchasing the records to view the parish of each would be expensive.

The other way is to pay 1 credit to get the record listing from the search then click the magnifying glass at the end of the record to show the list of parishes and go through them 1 by 1 - a long and tedious process - as I did with John senior.
