  • Hi David

Do you know which area of Limerick the Egan's were from? I have Mary Egan in my tree who was born c1840 in Rathanny (info from 1911 census) I don't know of any siblings or parents names, she left Ireland between 1871 & 1875 to live in South Wales.

She married my great-great grandfather Michael Donovan in the parish of Hospital & Herbertstown (Limerick) in 1861.

  • Hi Diane

Christopher John Egan was Baptised 2nd Jun 1891,  in Church of St. Michael's St. Michael's Parish, Limerick. I have a certificate issued by the church. His parents listed as John Egan and Catherine O'leary..Sponsor Bridget O'leary.

My Grandmother Mabel Egan was married 18th Dec.1909 at St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral Dublin. Her parents given as John Egan and Catherine O'leary. Also according to St.Marys records Mabel Egan was baptised at St. Michaels Limerick, May 1891.

On contacting St. Michaels the only records they have relating to John Egan and Catherine O'leary is the baptism of Christopher John. Nothing relating to Mabel Egan.

You now know as much as I do.

Thank you for your message, but iit seems unlikely your and my Egans are related.
