Hello,
I'm trying to find out some information on my gggrandmother Honora Costelloe (nee Stack) of Glengar.
I believe Honora Stack married William Costelloe in 1841 per Doon parish records, see below:
William Costello
in the Ireland, Catholic Parish Registers, 1655-1915
Name: William Costello
Gender: Male
Event Type: Marriage
Marriage Date: 28 Feb 1841
Marriage Place: Doon and Castletown, Tipperary and Limerick, Ireland
Parish Variants: Castletown, Doon
Diocese: Cashel and Emly
Spouse:
However, I have found two civil death records for Hanora Costelloe (see below). So, now I am confused as to which one pertains to my Costelloe family. My ggrandmother Anne Sheehy married William and Hanora's son Patrick Costello. However, I believe Patrick also had a sister named Bridget.
Death of HANORA COSTELLOE in 1898
Name HANORA COSTELLOE (of Glengar)
Year of Death 1898 (Nov 1st)
Group Registration ID 4297813
SR District/Reg Area Tipperary
Deceased Age at Death 75
Widow of a farmer-died of natural causes
Her daughter Bridget Sheehy (of Cooga) present at death
Death of HANORA COSTELLOE in 1899
Name HANORA COSTELLOE (of Glengar)
Year of Death 1899 (Dec 20 1898)
Group Registration ID 4308558
SR District/Reg Area Tipperary
Deceased Age at Death 75
Widow of a farmer-died of natural causes
Her daughter-in-law Anne Costelloe (of Glengar) present at death
My research also indicates that Hanora Stack and William Costello had 8 children per the Doon Parish records:
Thomas Costello- born Dec 16, 1841
John Costello- born Jan 6 1844
Patrick Costello- born May 14 1846
Hanna Costello- born July 20 1848
Judy Costello- born April 27 1851
William Costello- born Jan 25 1854
Margaret Costello- born Aug 7 1856
Bridget Costello- born Jan 16 1859
QUESTION:
Is it possible that there were two different people named Honora Stack and William Costelloe that resided in Glengar, Co. Tipperary? I only located one marriage record from 1841. Is there a second marriage record for Honora Stack and William Costelloe?
Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I think two people reported the same death at different times. I believe she died November 1st 1898 and her daughter Bridget Sheehy reported the death on December 5th 1898. Then her daughter in law Anne Costelloe not knowing that Bridget reported the death, also reported the death on January 2, 1899 and said she died December 20th to keep the report timely. You had thirty days to report an event. Two civil records below. You will have to sign-in to see the records.
Also, below is the marriage record for Bridget Costello and Richard Sheehy in 1884 which proves Bridget Sheehy was her daughter.
Interestingly, I can't find Bridget Sheehy in the 1901 census in Cooga or anywhere else so did she emigrate?

Hello Roger,
Thanks so much for clearing up the possible reasons for 2 death records for Hanora Costelloe.
For your records, Bridget & Richard Sheehy lived in Cooga Lower per the attached 1901 census record:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Limerick/Doon_South/Co…
Anne Costelloe (nee Sheehy) was a cousin of Richard Sheehy. Anne and Patrick Costello lived in Glengar per the 1901 Irish census.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Tipperary/Glengar/Glen…
Their oldest living children (John, Nora, William and Thomas) all emigrated to Detroit, Michigan around 1910-1913. Their 2 youngest children (Richard and Mary) remained in Tipperary.
Dick (Richard) Costello is buried with his wife Johanna O'Brien in St Fintans cemetary in Doon.

Richard Sheehy and Bridget Sheehy (nee Costello) are also buried in St Fintans cemetary in Doon.
