Johannah Ryan was born in Pallasgrean in June 1798. Her parents were Jeremiah Ryan and Mary Hayes. Edmund Bourke and Johanna married in Doon in c. 1820 and had nine children. They leased a house from Michael Dwyer in the townland of Cloghadereen in the parish of Grean and they were still living there in 1851 when the parish was surveyed for Griffith's Valuation. Three years later in 1854 some of the family immigrated to Australia followed some of the family in 1858. It is to be supposed that Edmond had died between 1851 and 1854 as only the mother, Johannah, is mentioned as being in Co. Limerick when their daughter, Margaret Portley (nee Bourke) was interviewed by the Immigration Officials upon her arrival in Australia on board the "Genghis Khan" in 1854.
Searching for three sons of Edmund Bourke and Johannah Ryan. They are Patrick born 1823 died before 1887; Jeremiah born 1827 died before 1887; David born 1841 died before 1887. It is possible that they could have emigrated to USA or Canada. Family stories have Mary Bourke, the eldest daughter, married a John Molloy and lived in Chicago.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The family lived within the Tipperary registration district. Civil registration of deaths started in 1864. I looked for death index records for Patrick, David and Jeremiah and did not see a good potential record. Either they died before 1864 or emigrated.
There were no Bourke/Burke families in Cloghadereen in the 1901 census.
You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.

Thank you, Roger, I think that as no search so far has found anything about them then it is possible they were deceased before my grt grt grandmother came out to Queensland, Australia, with the remainder of her family which was before registration in Ireland. I did visit the Doon Parish Church and also the Presbytery when I was in Ireland where the Parish priest help me to search the registers and that was a great help in establishing the family. Thanks for your help. Regards - Margaret
