I am hoping someone could photograph William Creed's gravestone for me. It is located off of the westerly side of R512, just north of the intersection of L1550. I believe the exact coordinates are 52°27'12.9"N 8°33'34.9"W. Also, if there are any other legible Creed gravestones in this small graveyard, I'd appreciate photos of those as well.
Supposedly William's stone reads: UNDERNEATH THIS STONE ARE INTERRED THE REMAINS OF WM. CREED ESQ, OF BALLYGRENNAN CASTLE DEPd LIFE SEPT 5 ANNO DOMINI 1816 AGED 63. I am trying to verify the year because I have reason to believe it might read 1806 instead of 1816.
I am related to William and all of the other Creeds who lived in or are from Limerick County, Ireland.
Thank you for your attention to my request.
Respectfully submitte,
Robert P. Murray, Esquire

Hi Robert,
Looking at the headstone, it is badly weathered so it may be very hard to read at this stage. I am assuming that you have seen the picture of it on www.historicgraves.ie
If not here is the link

Following on from that Limerick City Archves have a lengthy document on the Creed Family, called Creed family notes by Noel Murphy. Here is the link
http://www.limerickcity.ie/media/Creed%20family.pdf
It lists newspaper reports from 1816 for William's death
Limerick Chronicle, Wednesday 4 Sept 1816, Died yesterday morning, William Creed Esq.
Ennis Chronicle, Saturday 7 Sept 1816, Died at his seat Ballygrennan, Co. Limerick, William Creed brother of the late Charles Creed.
I hope that this helps

The Creed Family were mill owners for years and occupied Maidstown Castle in Dromin in lieu of a debt by the Gubbins Family.
