Hello,
I continue to research my Thompson family; George Thompson and Mary (Wilson/Wiggins). I have been able to confirm they emigrated to Canada in 1845 from Lugnagon Townland, Carrigallen Parish, County Leitrim Ireland. In the family history notes of my Great Uncle he states 'it became known that his ancestors had a mica mine".
Is there any way to verify this or find out more about mica farming in this time period?
