Hi Jon,
There is a record of the baptism of John Bergin 1787 in Laois on www.rootsireland.ie/; the parish is not Maryborough though
rootsireland charge to view full records but it would have his parents' names and the parish
The only marriage record is John Bergen and Elizabeth ---- in 1807 in Waterford
There is no record of Patrick's birth.
There was no tree on ancestry which has any more info than this I'm afraid.

I am linking to this post from my distant cousin Jon Bergin, hoping that more records might be available now.
I am trying to locate information on the family of my great-great grandmother, Anne Bergin.
Her family emigrated from County Laois to the Miramichi area in New Brunswick, Canada between 1818 and 1822.
Her father, John Bergin, was born in County Laois @1787. He married Elizabeth McLaughlin and the couple had at least three children born in Ireland. Finton, born @1808; Patrick(Jon's ancestor I believe) born 1812; and Anne born @ 1816. The Bergins were Roman Catholic.
John Bergin came to the Miramichi area in 1818. Elizabeth, Finton, Patrick and Anne came in 1822.
I have reviewed the link to Roots Ireland and it looks like two John Bergins were born in 1787 in the parish Rathdowney.
I haven’t had any luck on Roots Ireland locating a marriage certificate for John Bergin and Elizabeth McLaughlin.
Looking for any guidance available. Thank you.

These are notes from my mother, bit of a family historian, made while listening to her father. He would have been in his 80s at the time and has since passed on. This is the story he was told, and related it to her. It is possible the details are exaggerated, since some are very romantic. The counties are different, but the story had been passed down through four or five generations. However, the names are the same, particularly the names of John Bergin, Elizabeth McLaughlin and Finton. As an added bonus the story does account for the absence of a marriage certificate. I feel it is very likely we are related:
"Mary Jane Bergin’s grandfather (Dad’s great-great- grandfather), John Bergin was
born in County Clare. His father was “Lord Bergin.” John married the housemaid
at the manor, Elizabeth McLaughlin. Because of this, he was not allowed to take
his father’s title. His father, the lord, burned the church with the marriage records
and in lieu of an inheritance, gave John money to purchase ships to use for trade in
the West Indies. The lord was killed in an Irish uprising befor John’s and
Elizabeth had their first son, Finton, who married Mary Whalen. Their daughter,
Mary Jane was Dad’s grandmother."
Hope this helped.
