Hi,
I have been researching my father's side of the family and have traced his grandmother's side back to Daniel Flynn who is from Kilkenny. I would like to try and go back further or trace any other relatives from this area and woudl be grateful for some help.
Daniel Kilkenny born 1801
1841 Census - Residence: St Giles Without Cripplegate, Middlesex, England
Age: 35, Head of family. Occupation: Tailor.Wife: Bridget 35, Children: William 15 Tailor, born in Ireland. Margaret 10, Ann 4, Daniel 2 - all born in St Giles Cripplegate, Middlesex.
1851 Census - Residence: Dolphin Court, St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex, England
Age: 50, Father-in-law, living with daughter - Margaret 21 & her husband, Thomas Stubbs 27, Tailor Journeyman from Lincoln & son, Daniel Flynn 13.
Death: Jan 1883 Poplar, London.
If anyone has any ideas as to where to start looking that would be great!

Thank you very much for your message.
It will be much easier to find information if you can narrow down place of origin to a parish, as most record sources are based on parish divisions.
Have you tried:
Looking online at:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
Do you know the name of Daniel?s father or any siblings he may have had in Ireland? If you do, you could try searching for them in Griffith?s Valuation. This is a property valuation survey carried out in Ireland 1848-64. Although it doesn?t offer any genealogical information it can sometimes be used to tie a person to a specific place. Hi,
Many thanks I will look on the websites suggested. I have acutally got a connection on ancestry who may have some more info and a family bible, but I am not sure as to which line the bible is for. Shoudl be interesting foudning all of that out too.
