Hello,
I am seeking information on Thomas Revels (b. abt 1821 & d. abt 1888) and Catherine Revels (b. abt 1820 & d. about 1903). From my what my mother had told me, they were the aunt and uncle of her grandfather (my great-grandfather) Thomas Revels (b 1865 & d. 1937) who came to Halifax Nova Scotia from Kilkenny. All are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Halifax Nova Scotia. Unfortunately, there is little I can find about what brought them here to Halifax, and where they came from in Ireland. It seems that when they immigrated, they lost ties to family in Kilkenny. Family who would have known the stories of their history have passed, including my mother who had vague memories of her grandfather. Any information on the Revels from Kilkenny would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Patti Green

Hello Patti,
The surname Revels is quite unusual. I did a quick search of www.rootsireland.ie and found a number of people with that name.
this site is free to join and search but you have to pay to open the record, about €5 or so. However there is an offer at the moment of 40% off, but this is only until 13th of October. So you will have to be quick if you want to search many records.
Hope this helps,
