Keane/Ryan

I am hoping to learn more about my Great Grandmother and her parents. Mary Josephine Keane was born 1 Mar 1882 in Abbeyside, Dungarvan, Waterford County. Her parents were Daniel Keane and Bridget Ryan. Mary came to the USA in 1900 going through NYC to Galveston, Texas.

I have been told by people on the Internet that Daniel was born 2 Jun 1857 in Slieve Gua (Sliabh Gcua), Wateford County, Ireland.

Bridget died around 1888, she was hit by a train helping a blind women across the tracks.

I don't know if this information is true. I would love to connect with any family that may still live in Ireland. I would love to learn who Daniel and Bridget's parents are. I would love to learn more about the area and what was happening when my ancestors lived there.
