Could anyone please obtain and send me a photograph of the monument to George Cross 1692-1788 and Elizabeth 1719-1789, his wife. It is situated in the Fontstown Graveyard to the right, adjacent to the church, and was for years known as the Protestant grave. It is a flat-gravestone. It was erected by their daughter Martha Cross 1746-1824, Eagle Hill. The monument was erected in 1808.
Or if a photograph already has been posted on the web, could someone please give me the web directions.
Thanks and regards
Frank

Hi Frank
I'm not far from there so should be able to visit it over the next couple of days and get a couple of pics for you.
Leave it with me.

Hi Frank
I called out to Fontstown today and discovered there are 2 graveyards, one RC and one CofI. I went around both (a few times) and unfortunately could not find the headstone you are looking for. It could be that the inscription was too worn to read. There were a few I couldn't make out. But I didn't find George Cross. I did take some photos and would be glad to email them to you if you like. You can send me an email to Kildare@IrelandXO.com rather than put your email address on here and I will reply to that.
Do you have any other details relating to the burial? Do you know which cemetery it was in? In the meantime I'll see if there is anything online for you.
Cheers
