Hello,

I am looking for information on 3 Healy siblings who were from Tuosist Parish and emigrated to Pennsylvania in the United States in the late 1800's.

They are:

Daniel Thomas Healy, b: Dec 1844 and emigrated in 1865

Cornelius Healy, b: 1854 and emigrated in 1873

Hanora or Hanorah, b: 15 May 1857 and emigrated in 1878

They were the children of Cornelius Healy and Ellen (Ella) McCarthy or McCarty and were Roman Catholic.

Any information would be most appreciated!

Regards,

Martin O'Connor

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

If you have a look on irishgenealigy.ie and add the details above you will see that there are baptism records for Cornelius, Honor and Jeremiah Healy listed there under 'Church Records'.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

www.irishgenealogy.ie is a free Irish government site which has Co. Kerry church records. I looked at the Tuosist records and found the baptismal records for the 1854 Cornelius and Honora. I did not find the record for Daniel. I also could not find the marriage record for the parents.

The family was living in the townland of Gortavallig.

The 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Tuosist.  http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/kerry/tuosist.htm

There were Cornelius Healy records in the parish but none in Gortavallig. Possibly he was not leasing land at the time. I did note a John Healy in Gortavallig so possibly he was a relation.

  • Dear Clare and Roger,

Thank you very much for your replies and information you found! This is very exciting to finally have a handle on where exactly one of my lines is from in Ireland! This idea and service is excellent! Keep up the great work and we now hope to visit Ireland for the first time next year and walk in the land of my Ancestors!

    Best Regards,
