Trying to trace family of Denis Stack born Kerry Ireland 1809. Parents shown on his Death Certificate John Stack and Catherine Henright.  Denis Stack was transported to Australia aboard convict  ship Surrey 1 in 1836. He  was tried in Kerry in 1835 for stealing calf skins and sentenced to 7 years transportation. Records show  he was a farm labourer, Catholic religion and married with one female child.

  • Chances are Catherine's name is Enright so I did a quick search with no luck but as you probably know records for 1809 are scarce. Have you tried http://www.irishnewsarchive.com/ to see if there is a newspaper account ofthe offence which might identify a townland?
