I am researching my Fitzgerald family tree.  My Aunty Mary Fitzgerald Married a James (Jim Hayes) in Hendon Middlesex London in 1936.  They at some point emigrated to Kansas, Usa.  On the death of my Uncle in Kansas in 1971 My Aunty returned to Listowel in Ireland to live with his Family there.  They didn't have any children.  My husband and I are travelling over to Ireland next week to do some research.  We have come across a Hayes family toombstone which includes my anuty and uncle, so we are going to try and prove that this is indeed our relations and pay our respects.  I was always sad I never got to meet my aunt or uncle.

Trying to search for Fitzgeralds is a very difficult process.  I am the youngest of 5 children so to my knowledge non of my aunties and uncles are alive.

On the toobstone there is a:

Margaret Hayes (nee McMahon) (mum)

John J Hayes (dad)

James J Hayes (my uncle I hope)

Edmond Eddie Hayes (his brother I pressume

Mary Hayes (nee Fitzgerald) my aunty

Robert H McClay (my aunties brother in law)

Bridget McClay (Nee Hayes) my uncles sister
