I am seeking the father and mother of my Great great grandmother Ellen Stack born abt 1802 and married to Edmund Mckenna, son of Thomas Mckenna and Jane Ffoulkes. Ellen and Edmund had at least 8 (that I know of) children, one name Bridget Ellen who immingrated to USA in about 1852. I have her death cert in Manhattan, NY giving paents names of Edmund McK and Ellen Stack. I suspect Ellen Stacks father may have been a Maurice, but no proof. she named her sons, Edmund, Maurice, William and Patrick in that order and her daughters Bridget, Elizabeth, Julia and another Bridget (Ellen) in that order. Ellen Stack's husband Edmund Mckenna is an ancestor of the MCkennas of the Hardware Store in Listowel.

Go to www.irishgenealogy.ie which is a free Irish government site which has Co. Kerry church records. I located at last six of the baptismal records for the children but did not see the marriage record but maybe you will have more success. All six baptismal records were in the Lixnaw RC church which is immediately to the southwest of Listowel parish. The father's surname was shown as Kenna and in one case Genna obviously a transcription error.
Listowel parish records go back to 1802 but I did not see a baptismal record for Ellen that far back. Lixnaw records go back to 1810.

Hello, I am Robert Patrick Walsh Fister from the Lexington Ky area, My G G Grandmother was Ellen Shanahan Who married a Richard Stack about 1830, to them was born a Mary Stack in 1832 at Kilbaha near Listowel, Mary Stack came to the USA on Feb 1852 with her half brother Richard Gregoy, they came to Paris Ky and Mary married My Great Grandfather Patrick Walsh born abt 1832, Patricks father is John Walsn born abt 1810 at NewtownSandes Kerry. All of these names mentioned came to the Paris Bourbon County Ky, all of them are burried in the Mt Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Paris Ky. As you are aware it is very hard to find info for people born in the early 1800's.
