Seeking information on my greatgrandfather Thomas Reidy circia 1830. Thomas  was born in Kilmoyley, I would be very interested to know who his parents were. Found two David Reidys in the census but don't know if these were my Reidys. Thomas married Mary Ager/Eager in 1857 in Castleisland R.C. and had several children, some went to the U.S.A.

You may want to check out www.irishgenealogy.ie for Co. Kerry church records. I found an 1833 baptism for a Thomas Reidy born to a Daniel Reidy and Ellen Brosnan. Castleisland parish is not real close to Kilmoyly parish but I saw your note which indicates that Thomas married Mary Eger in Castleisland in 1857. In any event, you may want to check out this site and search for your Reidys.

I was told that my grandfather Thomas Reidy came from Kilmoyley to work in Castleisland and there he married Mary Ager/Egar. I do wonder though if he was born in Kilmoyley as I could not find any Reidy in the Kilmoyley census for 1909 and 1911 but in the 1851 census I found 2 David Reidy's in Kilmoyley I don't know if these are connected to my Reidys. It's very hard to know if there is a connection without having the names of parents and  some dates. I found so many Reidy records in Castleisland but which ones are connected I don't know for sure. Just wish I could find who Thomas Reidys parents were from Kilmoyley, that would be a great help. I keep searching as many sites as possible but no luck. Thank you for you're help Roger.
