The obituary  of my 2x great grandmother says she was born in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry Ireland in June 1835. Also says she immigrated to the United States with her parents, Mr and Mrs Edmund Scanlan in 1849, landing in Green Bay Wisconsin. The family moved to New Mexico, where Mary died in 1921. I will be traveling to Ireland in September and would like to meet with anyone who could help me with Scanlan family history.

  • could this be your  2x great grandmother, and her sister  ?

Mary Scanlon, bapt. 16th August 1834
Honora Scanlon, baptised 4th May 1837

Both in Ballybunion Catholic parish and parents are Edmond Scanlon & Hanora Hennesy, residence is Farranpierce

There's also a baptism of a younger brother John in the same parish on the 5th April 1840  (right hand page near the top)
