Hello!

Thank you for any help you can provide regarding my Irish relatives!  My 2-time great-grandfather was Bartholomew Coffey.  I believe he was born in Sneem on April 15, 1835.  His father's name was Cornelius Coffey and his mother's maiden name was Sullivan according to his death certificate.

Bartholomew married Anna M. Travers (?) in Skibbereen, Cork in 1867, had 9 children born in Ireland, England and the USA.  The family immigrated to the USA in 1884.

I have found many ancestry.com records supporting the families movement but I cannot find anything about Bartholomew's parents, siblings or early years.  I would appreciate any help you could give me regarding his parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.

Thank you very much!

The RC records for Sneem parish do not start until 1845 so I don't think there is a church record available with Bartholomew's baptism info. www.irishgenealogy.ie is a free Irish government site which has Co. Kerry church records and part of the records for Co. Cork (Diocese of Cork and Ross only).

I did find a civil marriage index record for the 1867 marriage. The actual record would show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1867. If you want to get a copy of this record for around 4 euros, let me know and I will forward instructions.
