My name is Barbara Holland Elam. I live in Mill Valley, CA USA. My husband and I will be traveling to South West Ireland the end of March. We will be staying at the Ballyseedy Castle two nites: March 30 and 31st. I am hoping a volunteer looking forward to visiting the Ballymacelligott and Currans Parish's; town of LIssataggle; his land, house and property ;Ballyseedy Castle and graveyards full of rich history of my ancestors from Ireland.
My Great grandfather Giles Blennerhassett (Jr.) was born in 1846. He is our link to Ireland . I have his baptismal Record. It reads "Giles son of Giles and __________Blennerhassett." (see below)
His parents were Giles aka Charles (Sr) and Ann Blennerhassett (maiden name Martyn).
Griffiths Valuation lists Occupier Surname as Blennerhassett and Occupier as Giles.

Giles or Charles (Sr) was born in Lissataggle township, Currans Parish, Barony Trughanancmy in County Kerry.
Ann was born in Ballymoney Parish, Antrium, Ireland.
Please Note: The name Charles (Sr) appears on the Marriage Register in Normanby, Canada 1869 for son (Jr) Giles ) and then as Giles in 1877 for son John’s marriage.
Giles (Jr) was born Nov. 18th and Baptized on Nov., 25th 1846 at Ballymacelligott. He has a number of siblings: James abt 1845; William abt 1848; John abt. 1852; Arthur; Mary abt 1859 and Thomas born in Canada 1861.
The families religious denomination was listed as Church of England
He , Giles Jr., emigrated to Canada and married Mary Blennerhassett (Maiden name Mc Callum). Their children are named: John, Annie, Thomas and Effie Blennerhassett (my grandmother) . Her married name is Holland. She emigrated to the United States with her husband Robert Holland and parents (Giles Jr. and Mary Blennerhassett)
