Hello.
I have attached a file which shows the information I found about my great great grandmother Bridget Mahon and her family. I believe she was born Feb 1843 in Derrylahan or Rosturra to Patrick Mahon, a wood ranger, and Mary Houlihan. She married Martin Lynch 2/2/1861. She died Drumnamuckla 8/15/1915. Does anyone have further information about Mahon or Houlihan?
Thank you,
Liz

Hello, I am responding to the Mahon family information. My grandfather was born ai Louscaun in 1865 to John Mahon and Bridget Leonard. Perhaps there is a connection. I do not know of Houilhans. I have information that may be useful to you.

I am responding to your inquiry on the Mahon family. Bridget Mahon is also my great-great-grandmother. One of her children, Jennie, married James T Brady. They were my great-grandparents. I understand that Bridget's parents were Thome Lynch and Winefrede Spain. Winefrede Spain's father was William Tentative Spain. Do you have any additional knowledge to confirm this and is there anyone else out there with knowledge of my ancestors?
Thank you.

Hi Julie. Martin Lynch's parents were Thomas Lynch and Winifred Spain. I think I have seen in family trees online that Winifred Spain's father was William, but I don't have any evidence to support that. I think we are DNA matches at Ancestry. I will message you there. I have a huge database of people from Woodford, County Galway, inlcuding your Jennie Lynch and her family. I am happy to share information. - Liz

Hello Liz, This is a message from FLOOD of Woodford (originally).
It's a bit exciting to start to see more people discussing people from Woodford and around the area.
I've seen the name SPAIN come up as a witness to a birth, death or marriage record for Flood. How amazing to see some replies to your question with possible matches already.
I haven't come across any of the names above connected to Flood, but that's because I have mainly started at about 1835 ish.
I don't mean to take over your page here, if I write the names of the furtherest back Floods, I wonder if they are in your tree?
Edmond ( Edvardi ) Flood. Born about 1799 - D. about 1842
Married 1820 to:
Anne (Anna) Flood formerly Tully Born about 1805 - D. 1873 Australia
They had 8 children born in Woodford.
If you have any leads in your files that could be interesting.

Hi all. I know a lot about the Mahons from Bolag Woodford. My great grandfather was Pat Mahon and his father was Michael who married Red Ann Touhy. They had 8 girls and 1 boy, I think Micheal Mahon is a brother or cousin of John. I have photos of the Bolag area and am out in Woodford regularly as I live in the area. Let me know if I can help. My email is marvo@eircom.net. Marie

I have no idea why this posted 3 times!

Hi, Flood. I documented Edmond Flood and Anne Tully on account of Michael Spain having been the baptism sponsor for their son John in 1832. I have not found any other connection between Spain and Flood or Tully.

Hey Liz, great to see you here!
For anyone who would like some free, easy access Woodford Parish bapismal records from 1865 to 1889 you can go to my transcriptions at:
https://sites.rootsweb.com/~egan/home.htm
Am also happy to share any access to my tree on Ancestry. Liz and I have shared notes for several years. The Egans, Lynch's, Fahy's, Tuohy's, et al. are all very interconnected. One of my Fahy gals also married a Tully (don't have my tree in front of me). The tree on the above link is ancient, my most current on is at Ancestry, but I do have it in gedcom format for anyone without an Ancestry subscription and am happy to share.
Marie, I was just back over at Drumminamuckla last August staying with my cousins, James and Bridget Egan, and also visiting with Mary Sheridan Smith (aother of my cousins). : ) James and I and my buddy Declan (Walsh) were taking about the Spains and Mahons. I am out the door today, but will be back and take a closer look at things here, also.
Breathe in that beautiful air for me, and if you run into Declan, Mary, James, or Bridget say love from Jane : )

PS. to view the transcriptions, you have to scroll down the page to the menu at the bottom. I transcribed them over 20 years ago, so forgive any mispellings etc, they were from microfilm back then.

Sorry to be such a scatterbrain today, Liz -- re: Houlihan.
You may want to get in touch with Mr. and Mrs. Holohan (Houlihan) in Abbey. Frances runs the Historical Center there and Mr. Holohan is also a wealth of information. If you would like, drop me a note at Ancestry, or at my personal email and I will put you in touch with Mrs. Holohan.
Best,
Jane
