My Grandfather Patrick Gibbons was baptized on 24th of December 1843 in the Roman Catholic parish of Oughterard, the son of Thomas Gibbons and Jane Clancy who married in the same parish on 26th February 1843 (an Ellen Clancy stood as a witness to the marriage). Patrick had siblings; John (bapt. 2nd May 1850, d. Chicago 30th June 1937), Mary (bapt. 29th August 1852), Walter (bapt. 28th December 1854), Margaret (bapt. 29th June 1857), Anne (bapt. 5th November 1859) and Bridget (b. 5th June 1865). The Gibbons family resided in the townland of Magheramore located in the civil parish of Kilcummin, Co. Galway where Thomas Gibbons leased a house and share of land at Lot 1k.
Patrick originally migrated to England and eventually ended up in Archibald Patch, Pennsylvania, USA, a coal mining town near Scranton, PA. He had many children, by various records and my father's recollections there were 23. Two wives shared the honors and my father Harold was the youngest.
I have plans to visit Ireland in the fall, probably around the middle of September and will stay several days in Oughterard.
If we are related or you know of any relations of mine who still live in the area, Please let me know by post or direct email lgibbons@larrygibbons.com.

Larry,
I attach detail of the 1911 Irish census whish records Jane Gibbons residing with the family of Martin Moloney. Martin Moloney married a Mary Gibbons in 1894 - (Church Record). She was probably the daughter of Jane.
I recommend that you forward a request to the Oughterardheritage.com .
I was unable to contact you via your email address.
