Hello,
Would appreciate in finding any information on this family. Thomas Joyce married Mary Brennan abt 1881 and they went on to have 14 children. My husband's maternal grandfather Patrick was the eldest son. I have saved copies of the 1901 and 1911 census and passenger lists but not much else is on Ancestry for their time in Ireland. All of them went to the United States (Chicago & New York) with the exception of John and Joseph. I would love to find out what happened to the two brothers and their parents. I would also like to trace Thomas Joyce and Mary Brennan backwards but cannot access Catholic Church records. I believe that Thomas Joyce was the son of Patrick Joyce, but I have no documentation to prove that.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide....Doreen

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I located a transcription of the 1882 marriage for Thomas Joyce and Mary Brennan. See below. The names of the fathers of the bride and groom are listed. Clonbur parish is to the northeast of Roundstone. Derreen townland is in Ross civil parish. Cuir townland is likely Cur in Ross parish. Mary was 17 and Thomas 21.
The Irish government recently release for free the images of civil records You can look for the death records for Thomas and Mary but the complication is that Joyce is a very common surname. Go to www.irishgenealogy.ie Also, marriage records for John and Joseph.
Let me know what questions you have.

Thank you Roger for your prompt reply. Am I correct in assuming that Mary Brennan's mother was Bridget Joyce? Using the link you provided, I was able to find the actual birthdates of the younger Joyces. Unforturnately, none of the children born before 1900 have the mother's maiden name listed in the civil records. However, I was able to track them down through naturalization records on Ancestry.com.
Seems like there are no Catholic parish records on line for Roundstone. I know that Mary Brennan Joyce lived till at least the 1940s, as the children who later immigrated listed her address as Cushatrower, Toombeola Galway. Any suggestions as to how I might track that? You also mentioned Joseph and John's marraige records. Where might I find them. Even if you cant provide any more information, Once again thanks for the clues you have provided. We have visited Roundstone several times...even talking to the caretakers of the letterdine estate, but have been able to find little pertinent information....Doreen
