I checked on Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie  but did not see an Andrew Lynch baptismal record in Co. Galway for 1850-1860. Do you know his parents names?

  • Hi Jennifer

I checked rootsireland also and there is a record for Andrew Lynch in Galway but ti is 1849 & is Andrew Aloy Lynch

I can get the parish if you like but you need to purchase credit to view the full record which MAY have the parents' names.

Welcome back Roger! I hope you had a great trip and a couple of guinnesses

Thanks! We had a great time and great weather. Had a chance to meet up with Clare Doyle and Mike Feerick.

I averaged two Guinnesses a day.

Slowly catching up with my genealogy work. You did a great job helping to cover while I was touring the Irish countryside.

  • Thanks so much for responding Roger and Col!

I don't have my second great grandfather Andrew Lynch's parents names. I'm going to search for his death certificate at vital records in NYC/Brooklyn,NY; but I don't know if parents names are listed. My Grandfather grew up with Andrew in Brooklyn NY; but it seems his grandfather didn't talk about his parents or any family in Ireland except that he was from Galway; was a devout Roman Catholic, and emigrated to USA around 1875-81. My mother and I wonder if he might have lost family during the Potato Famine. The 1849 date of birth could be right. I will definitely check out the link you provided.
The trip and the Guinness sound great!!
    Take care,
    Jennifer
