My grandmother, Julia "Sheila" Murphy, ws born in Spiddal Galway on 17 July 1905. She and her brothers and sisters (Mary Ann, John, Anne and George) immigrated from Ireland in the late 1920's or early 1930s..
Apart from my grandmother, the rest of her siblings immigrated to Illinois, USA. My grandmother had bad eyesight and had to immigrate to New Zealand.
My grandmother married William Rubin Albert Athol Smith in 1932 had three sons Athol, Norman and Leo. She was then widowed in 1938 when my grandfather dies of TB.
I know that a George Murphy lives on teh farm that grandmother came from and that my grandmother went back and visited her home in 1967.
My grandmother dies in Dunedin,. NZ 14 July 2000.
I would be grateful for any information (parish, dates etc) that could reconnect me the MUrphy family and allow me to trace the family in USA.
Regards,

Maureen,
Thanks for your time and efforts.
The information from the Census doesn't match up with the information I have regarding Mary Ann Dittman nee Murphy born 1897. Tis would mean that she should of been 14 in the Irish Census.
I'm trying to get a bit more inofrmation from family members to see if that clarifies the details.
Regards,
Martin
