Hi,
I suggest that you simply click on the website address below. If it does not open directly then you may have to cut and paste into your own search engine. When the site opens just follow the prompts. It is quite easy to follow. I hope this helps.

Hi
I suggest you use the official government website instead and save yourself some money. Its http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/find_a_service/bdm/certificates_ie . The other website may be government approved but it looks like its a private company which is why its more expensive.
Using the government website you can only apply online for birth and marriage cerificates after 1922 and deaths after 1924. It costs 10 euros plus postage.
If you don t have enough info to fill in the required fields go to www.familysearch.org , select United Kingdom and Ireland, then select Ireland civil registration indexes and search for the death of the person you want.
You need to make a note of the registration district, Volume number , Page number, year , Quarter and age.
If you enter all of that info into the place of death box they should be able to find certificate even if you don t know address of person who died or exact date. Always works for me anyway.

Sandra,
do you know that if you use the GRO http://www.groireland.ie/ you can get a photocopy of an entry in the register (not an official certificate, they cost more) for 6 euros. Although it doesn t mention it on their website whenever I send them the index details on the application form they deduct the 2 euro search fee and only charge 4 euros. They don t even charge extra for postage in the British Isles. You can apply for pre 1922 entries this way.
I always use the fax in my local library to send them my applications. I worry a little about sending my payment details on a public fax machine but I havent had any problems so far and I think it must be safer than posting them.
Please let me know if you ve found the right Patrick Madden.

Rob
