Hi ..

I'm looking for any help or information regarding my grt grt grandfather, his name was Patrick O'Connell he was born 1835\1836 in Galway not sure which parish..                                                                      He married Mary Barnes born about 1838 not sure what date they were married..                                    I'm not sure about the names of his brothers and sister but possible names are [ John ..Mary] I think he had other brothers ..                                                                                                                          He moved to England with his brothers and sister ,i dont know what year he moved but hes on the census records for England in 1861 .. His sister  Mary, her married name is Bly on the census records.    We have been told that he was the only one who remained in England with his wife..The rest of his brothers\sisters moved to the USA..Boston Massachusetts..                                                               I would be most grateful for any information or help as i can't seem to get any further with my research..

    I checked the Roots Ireland indexes and there were 19 Patrick O'Connell baptismal records from 1832-1838. Almost all of them were in the western part of Co. Galway. In addition some Galway parishes do not have records back to the 1830s and would not be included with the 19. 

    The only Mary Barnes baptismal record I could find was in 1843 which I believe is too late for your purposes.

    I could not locate a Patrick O'Connell/Mary Barnes marriage.

    It would really help your search if you can determine the parents names for the couple.
